Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Portugal

Our home is situated in the village of Candemil in the very north of Portugal, on the Costa Verde. It is surrounded by wooded mountains and spectacular views over the Rio Minho and into Spain. We offer you a friendly, homely atmosphere, comfortable rooms, continental breakfast, TV lounge and use of our own private swimming pool and an acre of orchard to relax in. We offer 4 and 7 night golfing packages for the more dedicated golfer or a per room per night accommodation for a relaxing family holiday. Candemil is within easy reach of the many historic and ancient towns and cities of northern Portugal. Also the Peneda-Gerês National Park is within an hour's drive. The area offers excellent opportunities for bird-watching, fishing, golf, horse-riding, painting, walking and water sports. If all this isn't enough and you just want to laze about for a day or so, the wide and sandy, uncrowded beaches of the Atlantic coast are just 10km. away. Something for everyone!

Upstairs the "Family Room" consists of a double bed and a single bed and has it's own en-suite bathroom. Next to this there is a single room which shares a bathroom with a twin-bedded room on the same floor. Downstairs there is a double room with a shower en-suite and a twin room with a separate bathroom. As this is a bed and breakfast establishment the kitchen is usually "out of bounds" to guests. However, there are tea and coffee making facilities in every bedroom and we will do everything possible to ensure that your stay with us is a happy one - you only have to ask. There is a small bar in the TV lounge. Besides breakfast, cold drinks and snacks will be made available to you and we would be willing to heat food in the microwave if necessary. There is a small BBQ and we are willing to man this if requested. We have a strict no-smoking policy in the bedrooms but you may smoke in the lounge if the other guests do not object.

Prices are shown PER ROOM per week. We will take bookings on a per night basis. 25% deposit is required to reserve a room.

One hour's drive from Oporto airport north along A3.

Don't expect any disco style nightlife here. There are plenty of restaurantes and cafe bars, which usually have television. Most towns have cinemas and there is a cinema and bowling complex in the shopping arcade in Viana de Castelo. In the summer there is always a fiesta going on somewhere, with dancing in the streets, medieval street markets and fireworks late at night.

Plenty of sightseeing, from churches and ancient architecture to wild open parklands with magnificent views.
