São Mateus is a parish situated in front the Atlantic Ocean, with many vineyards, a litle harbor and a saltwater pool, belongs to the municipality of Madalena, situated in Pico Island and Pico Island have 42km long and 15km wide, with an area of 447 Km2. Pico is dominated by its volcano (snow capped in winter) at 2351m the highest point in Portugal. The views to and from the volcano are spectacular and its presence seemingly binds together the central islands of Faial, Sao Jorge, Graciosa, Terceira and Pico itself.

Booking of 50% by bank transfer and 50% on the first day of arrival. From 45 euros/night for 3 persons - Low Season (01Jan at 30Apr and 01Oct at 31Dec) and from 60 euros/night for 3 persons - High Season (01May at 30Sep), can accommodate 7 people.

Direct travel between Lisbon and the Pico Island (2H30 - TAP/SATA), between Lisbon and the island of Faial (2H30 - TAP/SATA) and after on ferry boat (30 minutes) to Pico Island, and/or between Lisbon and the São Miguel Island (2H20 - TAP/SATA) and then another plane (SATA) to Pico Island (30 minutes) and/or fly between Boston and the island of São Miguel (4H30 - TAP/SATA) and then fly to the Island of Pico (30 minutes - SATA).
