Welcome to Zororo (Zulu for ‘rest’), a tranquil and relaxing haven set in the green heart of Central Portugal’s Beira region, frequently described as the most striking rural area of the country. Located at the edge of a traditional village in the Serra Lousa hills we offer luxury accommodation exclusively to adults who enjoy time away from the stresses of everyday life (and children!).
Our 5 double bedrooms are all en-suite, generously proportioned, air-conditioned and centrally heated, each having a balcony with views across the valley or to the forest. There is a large lounge and dining room, with contemporary furniture over Italian marble flooring, linked by a spectacular handmade double spiral staircase of wrought iron. Guests have use of a huge games room with a pool table, futebol table, LCD TV (including UK channels), DVDs, plus board games, books, etc. Outside in the garden is our 11-metre swimming pool with mosaic sun bathing area, a hard surface tennis court and our own 300 plant vineyard. Guests have free use of our mountain bikes to explore the local countryside.

To make the most of your stay a car is an advantage. The nearest train station is approximately 13 minutes away by taxi, whilst local busses stop in the village 300 metres down the road from us, where there is also a taxi rank. |

There is a large guest lounge and dining room, with contemporary furniture over marble flooring, linked by a double spiral staircase in wrought iron and chestnut. Downstairs there is a huge games room with a pool table, table football and large LCD TV, DVDs, board games, a selection of books etc.
Outside in the gardens is our new 11 metre swimming pool with a hand laid mosaic sun terrace, hard surface tennis court, vineyard and orange, lemon, plum, walnut and kiwi trees. There is a large BBQ stand and a shaded outdoor seating and dining area. Around the vineyard we grow most of our own vegetables (maize, onions, chou-chou, peppers, melons, corvo, etc) using organic methods.

The area around Zororo provides a wide variety of country activities, including horse riding, organised hill walking, nature watching, canoeing, cycling (we have bikes available), etc, as well as a unique opportunity to see and experience the 'real' Portugal, little altered for 100's of years, in the farming communities, villages and small towns of the region.
Only slightly further a field is Portugal’s old capital and university city of Coimbra, with the often deserted sand dune backed beaches of the Silver Coast beyond. The Knights Templar last European stronghold at Tomar and the Roman ruins in Conimbriga is easily reached, as is the Serra Estrella (‘mountains of the stars’) National Park.

ZORORO is to be found in the countryside some 35km to the east of Portugal’s third largest city, Coimbra, and in the region known as the Beira Litoral and close to the town of Gois. Detailed directions to the villa are made available once guests have confirmed a booking.
The majority of our visitors fly into the country and then rent a car, Porto being the closest international airport. If you are NOT choosing this method, kindly contact us and we will offer what advise we can. Although there are modern high-speed rail connections to neighbouring towns (the nearest local station is a 15 minutes drive), you will certainly benefit from the use of independent transport to see the local sights, etc.
