Holiday Cottage in Ourique Portugal

Casa Andorinha is a delightful detatched cottage which is beautifully appointed and deceptively spacious. It has a shady terrace, private sun terrace and access to the large 10 x 5 metre heated saltwater swimming pool.(no chemicals) The accommodation consists of an exceptionally spacious open plan lounge/kitchen/diner a large double/twin bedroom and a full bathroom. The kitchen/dining area has a range of natural wood units with granite worktops incorporating an oven, hob fridge, microwave and kettle plus dining table and chairs. In the lounge area there is a large sofa bed plus 2 leather armchairs, a TV/DVD, radio and CD. Double doors open from the lounge area onto a shady terrace for alfresco dining or relaxing and a further set of doors open from the bedroom onto an adjacent shady terrace. Beside the cottage is an area for sunbathing. The lounge, bedroom and terraces have lovely views towards the pool and valley.
To ensure your comfort the cottage has full underfloor heating for the cooler winter nights and fans for the summer.

The bedroom has a large double bed.
The sofa bed, when made up is a full sized double bed. There is ample provision for extra clothes storage if used.
To include use of the sofa bed please add 5% to the rate.
A cot with linen plus a highchair, suitable for babies under 2years of age can be supplied F O C.
Guests should please note that currently access to the bathroom from the living room, where the sofa bed is located, is via the main bedroom.

Restaurant Facilities
Breakfast - Either Full English or Continental Buffet may be ordered on a daily basis at a cost of 8.50 euros per person.
Suppers - Either barbeque or set menumeals are available several nights a week at a cost of 15 euros per person to include complimentary drinks. Orders are taken in the morning.
Barbeque lunches are also offered from time to time dependent on season and demand at a cost of 10 euros per person.

Laundry Facilities - We offer a 24 hr laundry service at a cost of 5 euros per load. An iron and ironing board is available for guests use.

Telephone and Internet acces can be arranged through reception and is charged as used.

Access for All
Casa Andorinha has generously sized rooms and doorways and level access throughout. However guests who are wheelchair users should please note that unlike Casa Aguia Apartment, which is fully accessible, Casa Andorinha has a standard design kitchen and the inclusion of a full bathroom including a bidet which necessitates front access to the toilet. Please discuss your needs with us prior to booking to ensure suitabilty.
The swimming pool is specially designed. Two of thesides are level with the terrace as with most pools. The other 2 sides, however, have an exterior slope such that a wheelchair user is then level with the top of the water. The pool 'wall' has a 60cm wide seating area on top making access to the water possible for many without the need for a hoist. The bonus for everyone as a result of this design, is the impression given of an infinity pool with fabulous views.
As resident proprietors we are on hand to all guests whenever needed.
For guests with specific needs we have an extensive list of mobility aids which may be hired on your behalf. Please ask for details.

Minimum stay 3 nights. The nightly rate may be calculated by dividing the weekly rate by 6.
Long term stays at discounted rates available on request.
A cot plus highchair, suitable for babies under 2 years of age is available.
If Casa Andorinha and Casa Aguia are booked together a discount of 5% may be claimed.
A 30% non-refundable deposit will be required when making your booking. A booking is not guaranteed until this payment is received. Your final balance will then be due 6 weeks prior to arrival. All bookings made within 6 weeks of arrival must be paid in full.
EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTS OF 10% ARE AVAILABLE ON ALL BOOKINGS IF THE BALANCE IS PAID IN FULL 3 MONTHS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL
Methods of Payment:-
We accept payment in Euros or Sterling. For Sterling payments you will be advised of the exchange rate that will apply to both payments.

What is included:-
All linen, towels and teatowels, including a midweek change for weekly bookings. Swimming towels for use on site.
Beach towels may be hired at a cost of 2 euros per towel per day.
Electricity and Gas
A Welcome Grocery Pack which includes:- tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, eggs, local cheese and wine, fresh fruit, fruit juice and salt and pepper
We also provide toilet rolls, 2 kitchen rolls, cling film, aluminium foil, bin liners, washing up liquid, sponge and dishcloth.
English style bacon may be purchased from reception.
