Casa Oliveira offers luxury accommodation for four, plus cot.
The cottage is furnished to a high standard. It has a large comfortable lounge and dining area complete with a TV/Video and CD player. A selection of videos, books and board games.
Kitchen - A well equipped kitchen with granite worktops, a hob, oven,
microwave, large fridge/freezer, kettle, electric juicer, toaster,
an iron and an ironing board.
Bedrooms - Both bedrooms have en suite facilities, walk-in shower or bath, WC, hand basin and bidet. Both bedrooms have double doors onto their
own private terrace.
Two Private Terraces - A door from the kitchen at the rear of the property provides access to a private breakfast terrace. Double doors at the front of the property open from the lounge onto a private covered dining terrace. This terrace is complete with a large circular dining table, cane furniture and hammock. A vantage point for the stunning southerly views over miles of un-spoilt Alentejo plains.
Extra Comfort - For extra comfort this cottage has under floor heating for the winter months. To keep the cottage cool in the summer months we restored the original dry stone walls which are 1/2 meter thick, in addition this cottage has cooling fans in the bedrooms. This cottage has a piping
hot Solar water system.
The cottage is finished with white washed walls and beautiful brick arches. It has traditional terracotta floors throughout with wooden shuttered windows, high vaulted beamed ceiling

Guest Hamper includes: milk, water, tea, coffee, fruit juice, biscuits, locally baked bread, Monte da Quinta fresh farm eggs & oranges, regional wine and cheese.
We have two adult sized bikes for guest use.
Set within our 5 hectares of private farm land we have sheep, pigs, goats, a donkey a pony and various poultry.
Fresh farm eggs and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Monte da Quinta sits conveniently on the edge of the town of Castro Verde. Just a five minute walk takes you into its central streets, with shops, bars and resturantes.
An extremely well equipped town with several restaurants, supermarkets with cash points, a health centre and 24hr pharmacy and an open air market selling local produce. The town has boutiques, hardware and household shops. There is a post office, a bank, an internet cafe, night club www.santaloucura.com, public swimming pools and tennis courts, a coach station, cinema and a cultural centre. There are also petrol stations within Castro Verde. |

White Lands
Although it is characterised by vast and sunny plains, with apparently endless wheat-fields, the Alentejo always offers new landscapes. The plains of Castro Verde, full of thousands of white flowers during spring, are excellent for walks by foot or by bicycle, and then you can fully appreciate the fauna and flora typical of the region’s flat lands.

From the Airports
A brand new toll road from Faro to Lisbon provides an alternative choice of route to Castro Verde. Both routes offer spectacular scenery through the Algarve and the Alentejo regions. Beja Airport is due to open later in 2008 (30 minutes from Castro Verde).
Faro Airport - 50 minutes on the motorway (A2) (toll is 5 euros).
Lisbon Airport - 90 minutes on the motorway (A2) (toll is under 15 euros).
