Hot water beach is 1 hour drive. Cathedral Cove is 1 hour 45 minutes. Tauranga is 1hour 15 minutes and drive a little further and you will be in Rotorua (total driving 2 hours).
Whangamata information centre which has all local tourist information is a 200 metre walk.

Sea conditions are suitable for all along the beaches 6km length, or in the safe estuaries that lie at each end of the beach.
