| Facilities: |
South Claragh and Bird Cottage offer guests the experience of heartland New Zealand - off the beaten track, but easily accessible and with all the comforts of home. Our farmhouse is set in rambling mature gardens, full of flowers in spring, cool and colourful in summer, brilliant leafy hues in autumn, still and misty in winter.
Our tree-studded small farm is situated in the countryside close to the Pureora Forest Park, 35k Northwest of Taupo on State Highway 32 - which offers direct routes to Auckland, Wellington, Taupo, Rotorua, Waitomo Caves and New Plymouth but without the volume of traffic on State Highway.

| About the Area: |
South Claragh is a peaceful haven for resting and relaxing. Laze in a hammock under the wisteria, have a game of croquet, family tennis or simply watch the animals grazing peacefully. Wander the rambling, mature gardens enjoying the views, the rhododendrons and bluebells, or glorious autumn leaves. Stroll by the pond or curl up by the fire with a book.
South Claragh is well-situated as a base for exploring the centre of the North Island.
We know and love the part of the world we live in and are always happy to discuss possible activities and places of interest with our guests.
However you choose to unwind, tranquility is assured. If you have children, they will probably be pleased to meet Holly and Jacob, our donkeys. Most adults like them too! Our handsome cat Jimmy will probably introduce himself, And of course, spring wouldn't be complete without little black lambs frolicking. We also have organic vegetable and berry gardens, a large ornamental garden, trees for shade and firewood
