The living space opens from the fully-equipped kitchen to cosy fire-side seating and a bright south- facing sunroom. Patio doors lead to the private south-facing garden area with BBQ and secure parking. The wood-burning stove and underfloor heating with DVD and library collection also make Glenboy an ideal winter retreat.

'The accommodation includes secure parking, underfloor heating, washer-dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, super-kingsize beds, WiFi internet, games, DVD and book collection. 100% cotton bedding and towels are included in quoted prices. Electricity/Heating oil extra (metred and charged at cost).
Organic food, Bicycles, airport pick-up, cleaner and babysitting provided by arrangement. Onsite workshop/meeting space also available on site by arrangement. Hosts are on-site to welcome you on arrival.

To facilitate smaller groups, a base rate is charged plus supplement of 25 euro per person per week. eg week for 8 people in June = 550+200e (ie 13.40e per person per night) Included in the weekly rate: All bed linen, towels, bathrobes, welcome pack, cooking gas & chopped firewood for cosy stove, and 13.5% VAT. Heating oil & electricity are extra, charged (at cost price) by metred usage to encourage conservation. Payment details
Dates may be reserved with a 25% deposit, with rental balance payable 60 days prior to arrival. A refundable deposit for cleaning & damage is payable with the rental balance in advance, returnable within 14 days of departure. Payments may be made by: a) Credit card through Paypal. This is the speediest method if you wish to confirm your dates. We send you the Paypal button by email; or
b) Cheque or bank draft in euro, payable to "Glenboy Country Accommodation" and sent to: "Glenboy Country Accommodation, Oldcastle, County Meath, Ireland"
Cancellation Policy
If a guest cancels a booking for whatever reason, we reserve the right to apply the following cancellation charges: More than 60 days before arrival -booking deposit refunded minus 100e cancellation charge Between 20-60 days before arrival - 75% of rental Less than 20 days before arrival - 100% of rental Conditions of stay
Where feasible we are happy to accommodate guest check-in and check-out at a time that suits them. Unless otherwise agreed, to facilitate other guests, check-in is between 3 to 4pm, and check-out at 10am on date of departure. We endeavour to offer the highest standard of hospitality and we ask that guests play their part by leaving the accommodation in the condition they find it. Oldcastle has a range of shops, banks, churches, Post Office, laundry, restaurants, cafes & pubs, gym, taxis and bus service. A range of music can be found in the pubs at weekends. With it’s the weekly market in the Masonic hall, gaelic football at the weekend and annual events such as the Le Cheile Arts and Music Festival and Agricultural Show, Oldcastle has all the features of a typical rural Irish town where real people work and live.

Within five minutes drive of the accommodation you can choose from the Loughcrew megalithic cairns, on the highest point in Meath, woodland walks (ranging from 1 to 13 miles) in the 365 hectares of Beech plantation at Mullaghmeen forest or renowned fishing/boating lakes such as Lough Sheelin. Glenboy is located adjacent to the lakeland districts of Meath, Westmeath and Cavan. Hundreds of lakes in beautiful rural surroundings are home to trout, bream, roach, rudd, hybrids, pike, tench, carp and perch. Oldcastle is ringed by renowned stillwater lakes such as Lene (with Blue Flag status) and Bane and Lough Sheelin famed for its mayfly fishing.

The county of Meath is a treasure trove of archeological and historical sites. In the Boyne Valley are Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth with their Neolithic tombs and monuments. The Hill of Tara was a centre of pagan workship from 2100 BC and seat of the High Kings of Ireland until the 11th Century. The Norman castle at Trim constructed by Hugh de Lacy in 1172 was visited by King John in 1610 and 400 years later by Mel Gibson for the filming of Braveheart. A short drive takes you sites such as Fore Abbey in County Westmeath with its 'seven wonders' or the the town of Kells famed for St. Columba's 6th monastery and the Book that bears its name now on display in Trinity College Dublin.
