Situated in a traditional south facing courtyard, these renovated holiday homes retain many original features. Some of the buildings date back to the early 16th century and form the original part of the peaceful hamlet of Mandegault de Melleran, just a few minutes drive from the town of Chef Boutonne, with its shops and ancient Chateau de Javersay.
Each cottage has been individually refurbished to a high standard, with all necessary requirements for a home from home experience.
The beautiful cottages share use of 12m x 6m solar heated pool and spa, wonderful peace, tranquility and relaxation.
Relax in the hammock by the pool, or if you feel more energetic, have a game of table tennis.
Within each cottage there is a kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and CD player.
Each booking includes bed linen (weekly change), towels, gowns, Molton Brown products and a welcome basket.

Mandegault is south of the Loire valley and an easy drive from the channel ports of Le Havre and Caen (approx. 6 hours).
Or fly to Poitiers from Stansted with Ryanair and hire a car. Flights from Southampton will soon be available to La Rochelle with Fly Be. We are approx. 45 minutes from Poitiers.
Flights are available from Liverpool & East Midlands via Ryanair to Limoge, we are approx 1 hour 45 mins drive from Limoge Airport.

Mandegault is a small, quiet but typically French farming hamlet, sited between two villages Melleran to the east and Loize to the west. The area consists of many picturesque villages and chateaux, built using the stone and roof tiles familiar to this lovely part of France.
In the nearby market town of Chef Boutonne there are many shops, restaurants and supermarkets, and weekly markets.
Also you will find the tourist information office at the Chateau de Javersay, where tours of the Chateau and museum are available.
Poitou-Charentes has an excellent sunshine record. and benefits from the highest number of sunshine hours in France after the Cote De Azur.
The heart of this beautiful countryside is surrounded by corn & sunflower fields, Mandegault de Melleran cannot fail to provide an excellant base for a romantic, peaceful and relaxing holiday, ENJOY!!!!

CHEF BOUTONNE is approx 4km away with its fairytale chateau and 'Lavoirs' (ancient wash houses) which bubble with ice cold spring water, has a bustling market with stalls of freshly caught fish and local produce. The regional speciality, Pineau de Charente, a delicious aperitif is served in pavement cafes in the town square. Fishing permits can easily be obtained for a days fishing at CHEF BOUTONNE in the well stocked Chateau lake.
Near MELLE you will discover no less than three magnificent Romanesque churches which during summer months become venues for the festival of Baroque music in August.
Further afield approx 1 1/2 hours drive away, there is the sea at LA ROCHELLE for swimming, body boarding, surfing or just relaxing and absorbing the atmosphere in one of the many quayside cafes and restaurants on its colourful harbour.
