Orignolles is close to the N10 major road and half an hour away from the A10 Paris-Bordeaux motorway, with Paris being 550km away. We are about 60km from Bordeaux, Cognac and Angoulême.
Bordeaux-Mérignac airport is 45 minutes away. People coming from England with a car can drive through the tunnel, but it is a long drive and ferries to St Malo, Caen or Bilbao can be much more relaxing with a 4 to 6 hour drive after leaving the Ferry. If you are coming by car, don't forget to leave some space for the cheap excellent wine you will no doubt wish to take back.

Attractions

Typical places to visit are:
Saint Emilion a medieval village at the centre of a famous wine region.
Cognac, with the old town centre and the castle of Cognac where Otard still blend and store their cognac facilities. We are in the centre of wine, cognac and pineau making districts and there are many "châteaux" you can visit to sample the products.
Aubeterre, another medieval village not as commercialised as St Emilion, with the largest monolithic church in Europe and an old church that was on the pilgrims route to Saint Jacques de Compostelle.
Blaye, an old fortress built to defend the entrance to the estuary of the Gironde against the English and other invaders. It still has the old village within its ramparts.
Limoges is 2 hours away.
