 Holiday Gite near Montmorillon in France
Chez Bobin is a lovely 3 bedroom renovated cottage, on pretty farmland in the French countryside, 5 minutes from the village of Lathus St Remy.

The medieval town of Montmorillon is 20 minutes away. The cottage is less than an hour from Poitiers and Limoges with their cheap flights from Stansted or 5 - 6 hours from the Channel ports.
It is near the border of Vienne and Limousin, both departments are beautiful and unspoilt, with lots of rivers, lakes, farmland and pretty medieval towns.
It's great for both summer and winter holidays

Ground Floor
Sitting/dining room with woodburning stove, CD player, table and chairs to seat up to 8 people. Lots of toys, games and books.
Fully fitted kitchen with table and chairs, fridge/freezer, gas hob, eye level fan oven and microwave. Door to back garden and door to the front.
Shower room and separate loo downstairs. Separate utility room in a small outbuilding with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Also downstairs is one double bedroom with lots of storage space, a twin bedroom that can have an extra bed and a mattress on the floor
(we often have 4 kids in that room).
First Floor
Master bedroom with super en suite shower room. Large galleried mezzanine overlooking the kitchen with another single bed. Sitting area with TV/DVD player, desk. A good selection of kids and adults DVDs.
We also have wireless broadband and internet radio.
Garden
A door from kitchen leads onto the terrace with patio furniture
and concrete BBQ. Steps from the terrace lead to a lovely garden with
grass and trees, and two hammocks hung from trees.
There is a large trampoline for the kids (and adults if you're brave enough!) and an above ground swimming pool

We usually rent the house by the week and prices start from about €300 for out of season to €800/week in the school holidays. We can do it by the day as well, so if you want to stay for a long weekend that's fine.
Linen, towels and a house clean are included in the price. But we charge a bit extra if you want to take your dog.
Payment is direct to our French bank account in euros, and you should note that some banks charge a fee for doing this. There's an availability calendar below.

The surrounding countryside has some great walks and is ideal for cycling with many trails. There are two adult and one kids bike in the garage.
There is river a short walk away, with swimming in the summer. Lathus has it's own beauty spot – Le Roc Enfer, on the river a short walk away. Montmorillon has an outdoor (and indoor) swimming pool.
The nearby towns of Le Blanc, Chauvigny, Le Dorat and Bellac have lots to discover and some great restaurants.
There's some good fishing in nearby lakes and rivers (bream, carp, trout). Fishing permits are very cheap in France, and can be bought for short periods.
We had great fun on the velo-rail at Chauvigny, where you 'cycle' along an old railway line into the countryside.
There is a riding stables 5 minutes away, and the kids have had lots of lessons with the English speaking instructors there. If you are an experienced rider you can just hire horses for a few hours.
There is an activity centre down the road that offers all sorts of outdoor pursuits for kids from 4 - 17 from fishing and rock climbing to wind-surfing and sailing – they even have a circus school.

Attractions

Futuroscope, a 21st century theme park, is under an hour away and well worth a day out.
A large beach lake near Poitiers, Parc de St. Cyr has everything for those that love the water. And one about 30 minutes south east at Lac St. Pardoux has 3 beaches, water-skiing, a waterslide, sand for sandcastles and lots of activities for all the family.
There's the Vallee des Singes Monkey Sanctuary where the monkey roam free, about an hour away. And also a Reptile Centre and Bird of Prey centre less than an hour from the house.
Both Poitiers and Limoges are lovely old cities with much history and culture to explore (and some great shops and restaurants).
