La Traverse Bed and Breakfast

This stunning 19th century "maison borgeoise" has been tastefully and sensitively restored maintaining many of it's outstanding original features such as marble fireplaces, ornate ceilings and oak parquet floors. Rooms combine the opulence of traditional french fabrics and chandeliers together with the luxury of modern bathrooms. Bedrooms On the first floor are two guest bedrooms, each with their own ensuite. The combination of the large windows together with the use of light furnishings give a wonderful, airy feel to these rooms. On the second floor is a third double bedroom (with ensuite) and a suite of two rooms (one double and one twin), sharing their own bathroom with washbasin, free standing roll top bath, shower and toilet, making it an ideal choice for families. Dining Continental breakfast - including croissant, pain au chocolat and bread from our local boulangerie - together with orange juice and tea or coffee is served in our dining room between 8 and 9.30 am. Priding ourselves on using local produce where available, a four course evening meal including coffee will make a perfect end to your day. The beautiful Lake St. Pardoux, with it's beach and fantastic recreational facilities, is just 15 minutes away. The historic city of Limoges, most famous for it's porcelaine and enamel artwork, is also just a short drive. Situated just 5 minutes from the A20 Paris - Toulouse autoroute and 25 minutes from Limoges.

La traverse has three very comfortable double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms and one family suite which provides ideal accommodation for parents with children - one double and one twin room with a superb large bathroom (roll-top bath, separate shower, wasbasin and toilet) in between the two bedrooms.

Location From the North, exit A20 motorway at junction 23.1. After 1km take the 3rd exit at the roundabout, signposted Fursac, Folles and Fromental. After 2 km turn right, signposted Viaduc de Rocherolles - entrance is 100m on the right.

From Limoges Bellegarde Airport, exit airport parking, straight over roundabout then after approx 300 m turn left signposted Poitiers and the A20, then right at t-junction. Carry straight on for approx 14 km, straight over the first two roundabouts then take the last exit off the third roundabout to take you north onto the A20 , following signs for A20 (Paris, Orleans, Chateauroux). Continue as from the south.

From the south, exit A20 at jn 24. At t-jn turn left, then 1st right at roundabout, signposted Fromental, etc. After approx. 1.5km take the 1st exit at the roundabout, signposted Fursac, Folles and Fromental. After 2 km turn right, signposted Viaduc de Rocherolles - entrance is 100m on the right.
