The 2 rear bedrooms upstairs open onto the upper terrace, with its vine covered canopy, overlooking the 8m x 4m pool, rear garden, and stunning wooded countryside.
Downstairs is the spacious lounge/dining area, with adjoining 3rd double bedroom, fully fitted kitchen, 3rd bathroom, and which opens out onto the lower terrace and pool with hardwood deck surround.
The lounge has 2 sofas seating 8, television with digibox for uk channels, dvd player, extensive book selection, and the dining area comfortably accomodates 8+. Outside dining is equally comfortable at the terrace table with parasol, and loungers and pool inflatables are provided.
The kitchen has a large oven with 5 gas hobs, microwave oven, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, toaster, etc and is fully equipped with every utensil.

The Vallespir is steeped in history and tradition, with many tales and remains from the Cathars still in existance, and the medieval walled towns of Ceret and Prats de Mollo offer up a myriad of stories, with countless other interesting villages in between and dotted amongst the surrounding hills. Just 8kms away is Arles sur Tech, with its beautiful monastery, and one stop further lies Amelie les Bains, famous for its thermal and spa ‘cures’. And of course, even the smallest of viilages proudly hosts its annual fete – the summer weeks provide a hectic schedule for the more socially inclined, or just inquisitive visitors !
Perpignan, with its Ryanair connection is just 1 hr away, whilst in the other direction, just over the border in Spain, Girona now offers flight connections all over Europe, with numerous frequent uk routes.
En route, and well worth a visit is Figueres, home once to Salvador Dali, and now to his fascinating museum, and a mecca for the price conscious fashion shopper! For centuries many great musicians and artists have been attracted to the Pyrenee Orientales, the sunniest region of France. Many of the great modern artists, Picasso, Matisse, Chagall and Dufy, to name but a few, have lived in the area and found it a great source of inspiration, from the beautiful village of Collioure on the coast with its ancient castle built by the Kings of Majorca, to the spectacular mountains. Whilst in exile from fascist Spain, Picasso lived for some time in Ceret, previously mentioned, at the start of the valley, and which now boasts a famous modern art museum. |
