| About the Area: |
The nearest town is the delightful market town of La Châtre about 2 miles away, once a Roman camp or ‘ceastra’ from which it gets its name. There are one or two vestiges such as the Roman bridge that crosses the river Indre. There are also numerous wonderful medieval buildings in the centre, which leads to the market place where the Saturday market with dozens of stalls is a definite must to visit. |
