It is just one kilometre from the pretty village of Ploerdut with shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, post office, church and medical facilities. There is a large, scenic inland lake within 10 minutes drive with a safe sandy beach for bathing, sailing and boat hire with a cafe on the shoreline. Walking, cycling, horse riding and golf are popular activities. Brittany is full of attractive historical and cultural sites and many are close at hand. The cosmopolitan beaches of the south coast are within 45 minutes easy drive. Breton culture remains strong. Fans of Celtic music and dance will find much to discover. The sun shines for 2200 hours a year and even in winter, a sunny day is never far away.

Kerral has a newly renovated interior with a studio-style kitchen/dining/living space leading to a comfortable double bedroom and shower room/WC. The kitchen has just been installed with all amenities and the whole is newly decorated. Now is definitely the time to book in for a week or two!Outside there are extensive private gardens and a large lawn with excellent views over farmland and forests. There is a BBQ area with outdoor furniture provided for relaxing in hot weather. Quilts and pillows are provided but sheets and pillow cases incur a small extra charge. The house will be fully cleaned in time for your visit and our English speaking neighbour will be on hand to give you the keys and show you round.

As well as facilities listed, there is also a ceramic hob cooker and oven, fridge, coffee maker and DVD player.

Rural Brittany is not a clubbers' paradise. It's really for families or adults wanting a bit of peace and quiet. Sight seeing or sitting on the beach followed by eating and drinking are what most people do. For lovers of home cooking there are endless markets selling the freshest produce. Otherwise there are many restaurants specialising in seafood, crepes and steak frites at reasonable prices. French people like to sit with a coffee on the pavement and watch the world go by and then retire to a bar for wine or pastis. Bretons are frienedly people and you will be welcome wherever you go, especially if you try a bit of French. Lunch deals at about €10 for four courses including free wine can be found everywhere under the 'menu ouvrir' signs. The best in our neighbourhood is at The Three Merchants in Guemene sur Scorff. Eat, drink and be merry!.

There is plenty to do. A good starting point is the Tourist Information Office in Guemene sur Scorff. Otherwise, there's walking, swimming (sea, lake or pool in Pontivy) , cycling (bike hire available), horse riding, golf, fishing, water sports, museums, galleries, local culture including the many Fest Noz with eating, drinking and dancing and Church Pardons in the Summer - outdoor religious services followed inevitably by a big communal meal.
