Self Catering Cottage in Brittany France

La Basse Rouerie is a Breton farmhouse and Longere that dates back nearly 600 years in parts.
It started life as a hemp farm, later it was a dairy and cider farm. The old cider barrels are now located at the entrance to the property.
We bought the farm in 2000 when it had been empty and unloved for nearly 20 years. It took 3 years of loving care to breathe new life into her and we are now in our 7th year of business.
We have lots of warm memories of the families that have stayed here, from all over England, Europe, America and Australia. Many of them have returned again and have become firm friends.

Bikes can be hired by the day or week and are delivered to your cottage.

Pear Tree is a 4 bedroom cottage with lots of original features like an arched granite entrance doorway and huge exposed oak beams.
The open plan lounge, kitchen dining area is ideal for family entertainment.
The comfortable lounge area has a stone and oak fireplace with a wood burner and feature granite walls.
There is a CTV, DVD player and a hi-fi.
The well equipped kitchen area has a washing machine, dishwasher, gas cooker, fridge and microwave.
The dining area has double doors leading to the covered veranda and then out to the pool area.
On the 1st floor there is a shower room and 4 bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms 1 with an en-suite shower room, a bedroom with 2 single beds and a bedroom with bunk beds.
They all have granite walls and exposed oak beams and have electric heating for winter.
The shower rooms have heated towel rails.
There is a separate patio area with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ.

Whilst we consider our accommodation to be child friendly, good parental supervision should be shown at all times.

There are two and a half acres of safe gardens with views over farmland.
The communal patio area has a brick BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the children play.
We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks.
The heated above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard. The pool is open from May - September.
The gardens are the ideal place to relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while drinking a glass a wine.
There is a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, badminton, swings, boules, swing ball, football net, and basketball in the gardens, along with numerous games. In the covered veranda there is table soccer, table tennis and a darts board. The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play.
Down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside.

Prices:
A 150€ deposit is required to secure your booking. A Booking Form with Terms and Conditions is available on request. The balance is due 8 weeks before arrival along with the 150€ security deposit.
A 150€ security deposit is required per cottage, this will be refunded to you after you leave providing it has been left in a reasonable condition and there are no breakages.
If the cottage has not been left in a reasonable condition then 75€ will be deducted to cover costs.

Helpful Information:
Rental weeks are from 4 pm Saturday to 10 am Saturday during peak, flexable at all other times.
For the comfort of our future guests, smoking is permitted in outdoor areas only.

Included in the price:
All bedding, towels, tea towels (Not pool/beach towels)
The beds are made up for your arrival.
A Welcome Pack (Tea, Coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, homemade jam & a bottle of wine)
