The Wisteria House is a beautifully restored traditional stone farmhouse with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, separate WC, living room with big stone fireplace, TV, DVD player, wireless internet access, and CD player. Enjoy your coffee in the morning on the patio facing east in the morning sun. Then relax with a glass of bordeaux wine, on the 2nd patio facing west, and watcg the sunset over the amazingly beautiful valley! The 3 bedrooms, all upstairs, have the traditional feature of beamed ceilings, and all the windows have wonderful views. Hautefort is a great bicycling and walking area with rolling hillsides and lovely forest and valley views. All services are within walking distance: 1 km to boulangerie, grocery store, and bank. 2 km to tabac, post office, and the office of tourism. 2.5km to a swimming lake.
Perigord is THE place to go if you love truffles and foie gras. This little corner of Southwest France is home to the black truffle, one of the most famous and expensive luxury foods of France. (Truffle Markets are open in Winter!) It is also the land of foie gras-- that typical French delicacy made from fattened goose or duck liver, along with other Canard specialty dishes. We have many good restaurants in the area. The wine regions of Bergerac and Bordeaux are only 1 hour to 1.5 hours away. And after a day of touring, unwind in the Jacuzzi and enjoy the unobstructed view of the myriad of stars!

Relaxation is easy, either poolside on the sundeck, in the Jacuzzi, or on a hammock; or enjoy a peaceful stroll of the property acreage of fruit and walnut trees. Enjoy the wonderful view while playing: ping-pong, badminton/volleyball, croquet, swinging on the swing set, or in the children’s raised fort with climbing wall. An indoor games room will keep all the family entertained with games, toys, ping pong, and Disney video cassettes.
There is a central laundry room with washing machines and dryers which you can use at no extra charge.

Les Gites Fleuris located in the Dordogne Region of the Aquitaine, near the A20 autoroute, a major north south motorway from Paris to Limoges and the A89, the major east west motorway from Bordeaux to Brive la Gaillarde. Hautefort is located east of Perigueux at the Thenon exit on the A89 motorway. Airports including Bergerac, Limoges, Perigueux, Brive la Gaillarde, and the International airport at Bordeaux are all within easy driving distance. The direct train from Paris Austerlitz station to Limoges takes 3 hours. Car rentals are available at Limoges for the 1 hour drive south on the D704. |

An easy walk though the perigordian enclave down a small country lane will take you to the little village of St Agnan, where you will find the conveniences of a bakery (boulangerie), a bank, a pizzeria & bar, and a church (eglise). During the summer months, St Agnan hosts many cultural events, such as musical concerts in the church and an outdoor Thursday evening fete (marchés nocturnes à St. Agnan), which includes a live band, food, and a marketplace. It’s a fun way for the family to spend an evening, and then stroll home under the stars.
At 1km is the local supermarket grocery store. It has everything you need to cook your own gourmet meals, including many international foods.
The office of tourism, the post office, the tabac, and more restaurants are located at 2km.
Weekly open air markets are nearby in the local villages. A great place to buy local produce direct from the farmers.

The property is great for bird watching, we have seen deer, foxes, and other wild life on the property. If you want to be more active, ride a bike, or take an amazingly beautiful country walk! Visit the top French Vineyards which produce the world famous Bordeaux wines, visit several old fortified villages (bastides), experience breathtaking views of Rocamadour sitting precariously on cliff sides, and be awe stricken with the natural wonders of the Padirac Chasm. Visit the medieval villages of Sarlat, and Perigueux.
For the active, canoe down the Dordogne River past Castles and villages built into the rock face (La Roque-Gageac)
For the historian, a visit to the caves of Lascaux II and Les Eyzies (the capital of prehistory) may be a highlight.
For the kids, castles filled with medieval armaments to bring alive the stories of knights in shining armor. beautiful Medieval Chateaux that re-enact knights jousting on horseback with carnivals in period costumes!
