Saxons Cottage is a wing of a large detached house standing in a pretty garden with lovely coutryside views. The kitchen is equipped with electric cooker, refrigerator, washing machine and microwave oven. A shared deep freezer and tumble dryer are also available in an outside building .
As well as the private patio area outside the sitting room, guests are welcome to use another lawned part of the garden during the nice weather.

The accommodation has one large double bedroom with room for a put-u-up and/or cot for up to two children under the age of 12 sharing parents' bedroom There is a large modern bathroom with bath and shower over the bath.

Internet access is available in most Public Libraries and free WiFi is available in the accommodation (bring your own laptop!)

This is a beautiful part of Sussex, close to Ashdown Forest and the South Downs, a new National Park with its wonderful walking possibilities.
We are extremely well supplied with places of interest to visit, with many National Trust and other stately homes within an easy drive of the property. These include Wakehurst Place (the country home of Kew Gardens) with its famous seed bank and lovely gardens, Sheffield Park which is full of wonderful colour at any time of year but probably at its best in April/May for the Rhododendrons and Azaleas and late September/early October for the autumn colours. Winston Churchill's home, Chartwell is an easy 45 minutes drive and Rudyard Kiplings home, Batemans, a similar distance. This is to name just a few. What about Hever Castle, the family home of Anne Boleyn? This is worth saving a whole day for to see all the wonderful pictures and furnishings inside the castle as well as the lovely Italian garden and the lakes and is only about 40 minutes drive from Saxons.I could go on......... |

The nearest airport is London Gatwick, about 10 miles. London Heathrow is about 35 miles.
The nearest railway stations are East Grinstead and Haywards Heath, both about 5/6 miles distant from the property and both direct lines into London Victoria, central London.
Ferries from Calais to Dover or Folkestone for the Eurotunnel. It will take more or less two hours to the property depending on traffic.

We have lots of lovely country pubs in the immediate vicinity for when you get tired of looking after yourself!

We are spoit for choice of golf courses here. They range from the rather exclusive Royal Ashdown on Ashdown Forest to several lovely pay and play courses including Cuckfield Golf Centre which is a very pretty nine hole course and very welcoming to all visitors, whatever their level of experience.
Tennis , riding, and cycling can all be arranged.
There is an indoor swimming pool and a fitness centre in East Grinstead.
