Oakside Cottage is a cosy, centrally heated, well-equipped property, annexed to a former 18th Century farmhouse. Formally a barn, it has been tastefully converted to a high standard, retaining many original features including oak beams and vaulted ceilings on the upper floor. All of the main rooms have good quality oak flooring with rugs, the stairs are carpeted in local Herdwick wool and the kitchen and shower room have matching ceramic wall and floor tiles. The two attractive bedrooms, one double and one twin, are on the ground floor and these are traditionally furnished with pine suites, built in wardrobes, blinds and curtains. The shower room, kitchen and living room are upstairs taking full advantage of the wonderful views, Skiddaw to the front and the Braithwaite fells to the rear. The living room contains an electric wood effect stove, two comfortable sofas, dining furniture, Freeview TV/Radio and DVD/CD player.
The well co-ordinated kitchen has limed oak units, integral fridge, electric cooker and microwave. In the shower room, which is well finished, there is a large electric power shower, w.c., wash basin and shaver point. Outside there is a small patio area with seating, parking for two cars and a covered alleyway where wet gear and bicycles may be stored. This cottage is ideal for families with older children or couples wishing to explore the fells. Please note this is a non-smoking property and pets are not allowed.
