Bed and Breakfast in an exclusive private country house in the Cotswolds.

YEW TREE FARM, built from local mellow limestone, dates from the mid 17th Century. The original farmhouse has been enlarged over the centuries, and is now a charming country house, where guests are warmly welcomed and invited to relax in traditional and elegant surroundings.

Approached via a long private drive through an apple and pear orchard, the house is a haven of peace and tranquility. It stands on the edge of a pretty village on the Warwickshire/Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border, and offers unspoilt views over the garden and the Cotswold countryside beyond.

Fine traditional English furnishings and ancestral family portraits provide an ambience that is entirely in keeping with the long history of the house and its residents.
The owner, Lady Hereford, a keen and knowledgeable gardener, has transformed the grounds of her home into a beautiful and imaginative garden, full of surprises and wonderful vistas. House guests may explore the individual garden “rooms”, each of which features a different focal point.

Private tours of the gardens, guided by the owner, are available to visitors between May and October. Visits to other private gardens in the area can also be arranged.

The guest bedrooms are on the first floor and overlook the courtyard.

The double bedroom evokes memories of times past, when life was less hurried. There is a magnificent mahogany four poster bed with elegant drapes, crisp white linen, chintz soft furnishings and period furniture in this cosy room. A private bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom.

The single bedroom is small but characterful, with a comfortable bed and traditional furnishings. There is a spacious and well-appointed private bathroom next to the bedroom, with a power shower and bath.

Tea/coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and radio are provided in the bedrooms.

Visitors are welcome to relax in the Hall beside the huge inglenook fireplace, which has a log fire burning in winter, and where there are some fine family portraits and other historic memorabilia, or in the comfortable private sitting room on the second floor where there is a flat screen television and a large collection of books.

Breakfast is served in the dining room, or in the vine-covered gazebo on hot summer mornings.
