The Birches Mill nestles in a secluded valley on the banks of the River Unk three miles from the village of Clun and a short drive from historic Ludlow. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside in an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty the only sounds you can hear are those of the river and the birds singing.

Built of local stone and timber and clad with ivy, the house dates back to 1640. Inside there are a wealth of oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and flagstone floors offset by antiques and decorated in a cool and collected country style with a reassuring lack of chintz.

METHODS OF PAYMENT: We are happy to accept debit cards and cheques payable to The Birches Mill, payment by credit card will incur a 3% surcharge. Please note: our site is non-secure so please do not leave your card details if you are booking by email.
WEEKEND BOOKINGS: There is a minimum of two nights stay over weekends (Fri/Sat).
SINGLE GUESTS: Our double room with private bathroom is available to singles tariff by arrangement.
CHILDREN: Over twelve years welcome.
PETS: Sorry, not in house (resident cats).
CANCELLATIONS: In the event of cancellation, the deposit is not refundable. If after all reasonable efforts the room is not re-let, 80% of the total bill (less deposit) will be charged.

Directions from Bishop's Castle
Pass Bishop's Castle on the A488 towards Clun. Continue on the main road for three miles, passing Colebatch and Acton crossroads. At the top of a steep hill take the next turning right signed for Bryn and Cefn Einion. Continue on lane until cross-roads at Burlow Farm and turn left, winding down hill for one mile. Turn right into drive before crossing the bridge.
Directions from Clun.
Head out of Clun on the A488 signed for Bishop's Castle. A quarter of a mile from the village take the first on the left signed for Bicton. In Bicton take the second left (opposite house with conservatory) signed for Mainstone. Continue on the lane for 1.5 miles up hill, pass Llanhedric Farm and take first right down the hill. Cross bridge and left into the drive.
