Food plays an important part in our lives - as farmers we produce it and as hosts we are committed to providing high quality produce for all our guests.
Your holiday experience starts the moment you arrive with a pot of tea or coffee and a plate of home baked goodies. There are also tea trays in both guest rooms with a selection of tea, coffee, fruit teas and hot drinks. Fresh milk is always available from the guest fridge.
Where possible all food is bought and produced locally. Sausages and now bacon are made from our own pigs and eggs are laid daily by the girls in the Hen House - free range of course! Fresh milk is delivered to the door from Mawley Town Farm, the local dairy only 1 mile from here. They hold an annual open day in June where visitors can watch the complete process from cow to carton - the robotic milking parlour is amazing! We are also lucky enough to be served by 2 local bakers so there is always fresh bread - speciality breads, such as the dark, malty Shropshire Brown, can be supplied on request.
I make jams from the fruits of the garden - raspberry, damson and plum and a lovely lady in the village makes the marmalade, selling it to raise funds for the MacMillan Nurses. Honey is gathered by Michael’s bees - the hives dotted around the farm to aid crop pollination, although hopefully I will be producing my own later this year.
I can provide packed lunches or evening meals using local produce if they are booked in advance. Special diets can also be catered for - please advise when booking.

Sustainability is the new buzz word but to us it is a way of life. We have always grown our own food, composted the waste and recycled what we can. Nothing is wasted – if we don’t eat it the dog, pigs or hens will. Water butts gather rainwater to be used in the garden through the summer months. Wood is gathered from all over the farm to burn on the 2 wood burning stoves that heat the main living rooms. A Sheila Maid hangs above one, efficiently drying clothes through the winter months.
Where possible we have changed to low energy light bulbs and last summer had solar tubes fitted to the roof to provide energy efficient hot water to all the bathrooms.
The next step is moving towards using only environmentally friendly cleaning products and encouraging guests to request washing of bedding and towels, rather than automatically changing it.
Our ‘buy local’ philosophy also supports our sustainable lifestyle, by supporting local shops and businesses we also support the local community, ensuring a future for our children.

| About the Area: |
Broome Park is the perfect place to stay for a walking or cycling holiday. There are many waymarked walks in the area and the local Footpath Association work hard to maintain local paths. There are also 3 different circular cycle routes that pass our drive. We are at the southern end of the Jack Mytton Way - Shropshire’s long distance bridleway (for use by those on foot, bicycle and horseback).

If you wish to eat locally The Crown at Hopton offers excellent food only a 5 minute drive away. Cleobury Mortimer has an excellent Indian Restaurant and most of the local pubs serve the award winning local ale – Hobsons – brewed in the town. They also have their own pub – The Kings Arms, on the High Street, serving delicious homemade food at lunchtimes.
For guests happy to travel a little further we can recommend local village pubs serving excellent food at reasonable prices. There is also Ludlow, only 10 miles away with its status as Slow Food capital of the UK.
