Sitting room with French windows leading out into the garden and with views over the Nene Valley. There is a sofa bed for a carer who does not share the bedroom. Kitchen with dining space for four and equipped with almost everything a cook could want, including fridge, freezer and washer / dryer. The dining table can be adjusted in height to suit wheelchair users as can the table in the sitting room. Under-sink legroom and a slightly lower hob make this a highly friendly kitchen for those who would like the option to cook while seated. One double bedroom with generous bedside space. Full wet bathroom and choice of shower facilities as well as a bath. Drying / boot room. Electrical equipment includes wireless Internet access in all rooms, digital tvs in sitting and bedroom, DVD recorder in sitting room and DVD player in bedroom, digital radio, CD and tape player, etc. An extensive range of books, audio books, DVDs and recordable DVDs are provided. This is not a unit for the disabled as such. It is a beautiful living space that can be adapted on request for those with impaired mobility. It is fully M3i compliant. As well as having wider doors and adequate space in all rooms to navigate a wheelchair, the sink is low enough to be able to wash up or prepare veg while seated, work surfaces are a little lower, and there is an oven at a more convenient height too. In addition, the dining table legs can be lengthened, rugs removed and a ramp put inside the unit to facilitate navigation of a wheelchair over the threshold. Two-way radios provide excellent communications for a carer or for someone who wants to walk on the tracks but wants to stay in touch with others. The wetroom is fully adapted with retractable rails that facilitate the use of the toilet, and a sit-under shower and bath.
A payphone is available on request, but all major mobile phone networks work well here.
All properties are pet and smoke free.

The cottages are about half a mile from the nearest road, with trees behind and to the side of them and a glorious view over the Nene Valley. On a clear morning, you can see over ten miles from your bed. We don't shoot this part of the farm, which means that, depending on the time of year, you will sometimes have to wait for game birds to let you pass on the road and will often find yourself chasing hare and leverets in your car.
We raise our own rare breed animals on the farm and the welcome pack includes dry cured bacon and sausages from our Tamworth pigs, as well as the usual wine, cheese, pasta, etc for a quick meal whenever you arrive.

The entrance to our cottages is from the B662, which is the yellow road that runs from Clopton to the A605. If you look at the map, you may be tempted to approach from Wigsthorpe, but that track is unsuitable for cars and normally blocked.
From the North on the A1 Take the A1 south to the A605 junction signposted to Oundle and Wisbech. After 12 miles, turn left to Clopton and Old Weston at the third roundabout since joining the A1. The entrance to the drive is on your left after 1½ miles. From the East Take the A14 and cross the A1 at Junction 21. Confusingly, you have to turn off the A14 just after Huntingdon in order to stay on it; if you don't, you will end up on the A1 going north. After the A1 junction, continue on the A14 for 15 miles, leaving at Junction 13, signposted for the A605 (Peterborough) and the A45 (Northampton and Wellingborough). Take the fourth exit from the roundabout at the end of the slip road for the A605 to Peterborough. Continue for 3½ miles, past two very active speed cameras. At the roundabout, turn right to Clopton and Old Weston. The entrance to the drive is on your left after 1½ miles. From the South on the A1 Take the A14 exit off the A1 at Junction 21 signposted for the M1, M6, A14 and Kettering. At the roundabout at the bottom of the slip road, take the second exit on to the A14 for Kettering and the M1 and M6. Continue on the A14 for 15 miles, leaving at Junction 13, signposted for the A605 (Peterborough) and the A45 (Northampton and Wellingborough). Take the fourth exit from the roundabout at the end of the slip road for the A605 to Peterborough. Continue for 3½ miles, past two very active speed cameras. At the roundabout, turn right to Clopton and Old Weston. The entrance to the drive is on your left after 1½ miles.

Fishing There are many lakes nearby, including Elinor Trout Fishery, four miles away in Aldwincle, with excellent carp fishing at a number of locations. There are also good lakes at Stanwick. This is also a great place to take the kids for a walk or bike ride. Only 2 miles away is Barnwell Country Park which has access for the disabled and is also very child friendly.
A little further afield, just north of Rockingham Castle, is Eyeborook Trout Fishery. 'Nestling on the borders of three counties, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire, Eyebrook Reservoir is a jewel hidden in one of the prettiest parts of England. Surrounded by rolling arable fields, pasture land, spruce, pine and willow trees, you would be hard stretched to find a more attractive looking water' says Trout Fisherman Magazine.
On the farm we have a couple of small lakes which are full of carp and those with their own rods are welcome to try their luck. One of the guys on the farm and his son claim to have caught over forty in a day a few years ago but the fish must have got wiser since then.
Motor Sport There is definitely petrol in the air of this county. Not only are a number of Formula 1 teams based here but, as a result, a whole supporting industry has been spawned. By way of example, I went to buy a battery for the ATV in the backstreets of Wellingborough and found two guys working on a scooter (yes, a scooter) that had done 120mph at Santa Pod. Silverstone. F1 down to saloon. Home of the British Grand Prix. We can arrange helicopter flights into Silverstone for the British Grand Prix from outside the cottages.
Santa Pod Raceway. Drag.
Rockingham. A bit of everything.
Kimbolton. Kart racing as compared to arrive and drive.
