It is a 19th century Norfolk cottage sympathetically restored with traditional features, such as ledge and brace doors and Suffolk latches complemented by modern facilities to give your break a touch of luxury with a classical feel. During your stay you are welcome to relax in our conservatory or enjoy the garden, which it overlooks. Selection of local maps and books for walking, cycling or touring by car. Guided walks can be arranged and there is secure storage for your own bikes. The surrounding South Norfolk and North Suffolk countryside and coast provide many interesting small towns and villages to explore as well as being close to the southern "gateway" to the Norfolk Broads. Enjoy a luxury stay in the beamed, upstairs, room furnished with beautiful, traditional-style antique yew furniture, luxury wool carpet and handmade curtains and blinds with views across the open fields; the sunsets are glorious. You can choose separate twin beds or they can be put together to make a kingsize double. Either way, with the fresh white bed linen, you are assured a comfortable nights sleep. To set you up for a busy day a hearty breakfast is served in the conservatory overlooking the garden. All food is sourced locally where possible. There is always a selection of cereals, muesli, porridge with honey, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, fruit juices and homemade breads. Then you can choose the Aga-cooked “Rose Cottage breakfast plate” – the traditional things for two to share, or locally cured kippers or eggs “any-which-way” – you choose All with a selection of home-made breads, teas and coffees.
An evening meal can be served at any time during your stay. Typically this would be a light starter followed by a roast, home-made pie or casserole with fresh vegetables (or a salad if you’d prefer) then home-made dessert often using fruit from the garden or selection of cheeses and biscuits and completed by tea or coffee with cream (£17.50 per person)
Afternoon Tea You will be welcomed on arrival and, for those who stay longer when you arrive back from your day out, with complimentary home-made cakes and tea or coffee.
