About the area
|
| Location: |
Wacton |
| Transport: |
Le Grys Barn is situated at Wacton Common, Wacton near Long Stratton (A140) in South Norfolk. Wacton lies between the City of Norwich to the north and Diss to the south - both accessible via the A140. It has frequently been noted by visitors what a central location the village of Wacton has. The whole of Norfolk and North Suffolk can be exposed with ease.
In a little over an hour, you can be on the dramatic North Norfolk coast, picnicking in the dunes at Holkham (voted one of the world's best beaches), watching the seals at Blakeney Point, admiring the windmill at Clay or designer shopping at Burnham Market. Further west, visit the Queen's house at Sandringham (see the glorious Norfolk lavender fields there in the summer).

| About the Area: |
The beautiful Norfolk Broads are within easy reach of Le Grys Barn - Acle is only 22 miles away via the A140 and then A47 (the A47 ends in Great Yarmouth). The candy coloured beach huts at Southwold on the Suffolk coast are a pleasant hour's drive away.
To the south of Wacton, there is the ancient Viking burial site at Sutton Hoo near Woodbridge, north east of Ipswich and the misty meadows of Constable Country.
The cathedral city of Norwich is 12 miles away with its cobbled streets, timber-framed buildings, bustling outdoor market, theatres and shops all dominated by the magnificent castle. The splendid new Millennium Library at the Forum is our latest treasure.
Take a look at Waveney Valley Blog for current events in Norfolk and Suffolk.
On our doorstep here in South Norfolk, we have Bressingham Garden Centre and Steam Museum, Banham Zoo, Gliding at Tibenham, Horse Riding at Rushall, Golf at Dunston, Motor Racing at Snetterton and excellent fishing in the Tas Valley. The Burston Crown is a pub well worth visiting. There are lovely country walks around The Barn itself and many good cycle trails.
