Wednesday Cottage has 3 bedrooms and is your home from home in a semi-rural conservation area just outside the centre of Ware and 3 miles from Hertford in Hertfordshire. We are situated north of London and equidistant between London and Cambridge , both of which are easily accessible. Trains into central London take around 30 minutes.

There are two bedrooms upstairs, the main bed is 5ft wide (queen sized) with wardrobe and chest. We provide all bedlinen, towels and tea towels and always use pillow and mattress protection. All our bedding is washed at 60 degrees and we do not have any feather or down bedding due to allergies. Our second bedroom leads off the first 'there is a door but it is open in the photo' and has two single (twin) beds and a chest.

The cottage is ideal for families and couples or if you are working away from home we supply a broadband internet connection for your laptop. You are welcome to come in to the main garden and children can use the swing set.
The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer. Full independent central heating and on demand high pressure hot water. The living room has a circular oak dining table with 6 chairs, leather sofas and a 4ft sprung sofa bed. There is a 32” wide screen TV with DVD, video and Playstation 2 (plus games). We also have a selection of DVD's, videos, board games and books for all the family.
NB We have a deep swimming pool near to the cottage, please be aware of this before booking. Children must be supervised at all times. You are welcome to use the pool but by arrangement only.
We have plenty of off street parking . Books, toys, games, DVD's and videos for all the family. All towels, tea towels, some cleaning products and all bed linen is provided.
A weekly maid service can be provided at an extra cost.

A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking, the remainder is payable 8 weeks before your trip. Should you cancel, your deposit is non-refundable. Please take out cancellation insurance. The period of use is from 3pm on the day of arrival until 10.30am on the day of departure. The property must be left in a clean and tidy condition and no smoking or pets are permitted in the cottage. All breakages and breakdowns of equipment must be reported immediately. Wednesday cottage is let on the understanding that the accommodation is for short term holiday use only and for the period specified and that no right to remain in the property exists for the applicant or anyone in the applicant's party.
Short stays (3 nights plus) from £80 - £110 per night depending on the season and number of guests.
7 nights or longer from £499.00 - £699.00 depending on the season and number of guests.
Christmas and New Year weeks are £750.00 (7 night minimum)
We are happy to accommodate groups of singles who are working together.
Please note in cold weather there will be an additional charge for heating. The cottage has its own independent heating and hot water system.
We offer an extremely high quality, cosy and clean cottage. In September 2008 we were once again awarded 4 stars by Quality in Tourism.
You will need a car for your stay as we are 1 mile away from Ware town centre and slightly further to Ware train station.

We are in the county of Hertfordshire just north of London. We are about 2 miles from Ware train station. Stansted airport and M11 motorway 20 minutes Heathrow airport 60 minutes Gatwick airport 90 minutes. M25 motorway junction 25 is 15 minutes away. From the M25 junction 25 turn towards Hertford and drive 10 miles north. Go over the big bridge and turn off at the junction that says Wadesmill and Thundridge. This is after the Stevenage A602 turning.
At the small roundabout turn right and then turn next right up Cold Christmas Lane (you will have Hanbury Manor golf club on your left). When you go over the bridge on Cold Christmas Lane you will now be able to see the house at the top of the hill to your right, it is green and attached to a cream house. Go 1/2 mile up Cold Christmas Lane (look out for the word SLOW painted on the road) then turn right up the lane that is on the bend in the road. There is a wooden fence where you turn right and on it it says 'Gardiner's Spring' Our house is the 5th one along - Wednesday House. Come into the third gate (it is easier to back in) as the accommodation is on the far right of the house and the entrance is not visible from the drive.

We are surrounded by farmland and footpaths and within walking distance of our 4 local pubs, all of which serve excellent food. Our local golf club, Hanbury Manor is about 1 mile away.

Our local town is Ware but we are only 3 miles from the county town of Hertford where you will find fascinating architecture, friendly specialist and antique shops, bustling Saturday Market, excellent Museum, the oldest Quaker Meeting House still in use, as well as Hertford Castle.

We are 45 minutes from Cambridge best known for its University Colleges as well as nearby attractions of Ely Cathedral and Oliver Cromwell's House and many more historical buildings.
Just 30-40 minutes by train you can enjoy all the sights of central London such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Madame Tussauds, take a ride on the London Eye, visit some of the many Museums and Galleries or enjoy a performance at a West End Theatre
20 minutes from the Henry Moore Foundation the grounds and studios of sculptor Henry Moore are open to the public by appointment during the annual visitor season from April to October each year. Visitors to The Henry Moore Foundation at Perry Green, Hertfordshire can see the monumental bronzes on display in the rural setting that Moore so loved, as well as exhibitions in the Sheep Field Barn gallery and sixteenth century timbered Aisled Barn.
We are also just 20 minutes from Knebworth House one of England's most beloved stately homes, famous for its rock concerts and as the home of Victorian novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton - author of the words "The pen is mightier than the sword"
Hatfield House just 20 minutes away is a fine Jacobean House and Garden in a spectacular countryside setting where Queen Elizabeth I spent most of here childhood. Visitors are welcomed from Easter Saturday to the end of September unless attending a winter event.
Paradise Wildlife Park is a fantastic, fun filled, destination for all the family just 25 minutes away with an amazing range of animals including tigers, lions, monkeys, zebras, camels and wolves and what makes us really unique is the fact that you can get up close and personal, meeting and feeding many of the animals. Indoor play area and themed adventure playgrounds.
40 minutes from Duxford Aviation Museum to see Concorde and the world's last flying Lancaster bomber, as well as having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits.
