Acomb and Broadwater Cottages each have one bedroom while Ashwell and Smiths Cottages each have a double bedroom and a galleried second bedroom that also sleeps two. Each cottage has a large comfortable sofa bed in the living area. The furniture can be arranged to suit your tastes so that you feel completely at home.
All four cottages have been designed with the needs of wheelchair users in mind and are fully accessible.

4 Star Accommodation.

Stables have been converted into four charming, contemporary, cottages newly decorated in calm, neutral colours. Acomb and Broadwater Cottages each have one bedroom while Ashwell and Smiths Cottages each have a double bedroom and a galleried second bedroom that also sleeps two. Each cottage has a large comfortable sofa bed in the living area. The furniture can be arranged to suit your tastes so that you feel completely at home.

The kitchen of Broadwater Cottage has been designed for disabled people by Adam Thomas of Access Matters. There is an electric sink and hob riser giving wheelchair users complete independence.

All four cottages have been designed with the needs of wheelchair users in mind and are fully accessible. Shower rooms have non-slip floors, wheel-in showers and self propelled shower chair if needed. A wheelchair, hearing loop and walking frame are also available. Ashwell Cottage has a Voyager hoist in the bedroom. We can arrange for specialist equipment to be hired locally and will happily do your shopping for you or other small chores. There are disabled parking bays next to the cottages.

We welcome quiet well-behaved dogs.

The high ceilings with skylights and French windows give a wonderful sense of space and really give the feeling of bringing the outdoors inside. Both two-bedroom cottages are identical except that Ashwell Cottage has an extra window and voyager hoist.

Bed linen and towels are provided. There is a laundry room, or if you prefer a 24 hour laundry service.

In such idyllic surroundings it’s hard to believe that you are within easy each of London, Cambridge and St Albans – ideal for those times when you need a little retail therapy. The historic county town of Hertford is just over a mile away with an excellent range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Children will love the nearby Paradise Wildlife Park.

For those who prefer to see the view from a horse’s back there are riding and stable management courses. We can arrange carriage driving which offers a unique way of seeing the surrounding countryside for wheel chairs users. There is also a Scope riding centre in nearby Royston. *
