Tucked away, on a quiet lane behind the village store, yet only sixty paces from the local pub, Rowan Cottage is filled with the comforts of home and offers excellent holiday accommodation.

The windows and doors were upgraded in march 2010 and for the third year running we have been rated 3 stars for self catering by the English Tourist Board. Fitted with all mod cons and a traditional multi fuel stove, it is carpeted throughout and really is a home from home. Situated in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so wherever you go you are assured of dramatic views over the surrounding dales and fells. The area is superb walking country, ranging from a stroll to a nearby pub along the river or a more energetic climb up Buckden Pike or Great Whernside, Wharfedales highest peaks, both over 2000 ft.

The main bedrooms are on the first floor.. Bedroom 1 sleeps 2 in a pine double bed, chest of drawers and wardobes and looks out of the front of the cottage. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has three new single beds, which depending on the make up of your party can be arranged the way you prefer. It looks out to the front of the cottage. Both bedrooms are heated with night storage heaters There is a double bed-sette in the the lounge downstairs. The lounge is heated with night storage heaters and the log burning stove. Rowan Cottage has been award 3 stars for Self Catering by the English Tourist Board for the third year running. The sign of Quality Holiday Accommodation

Strolls to a nearby pub along the river or if you prefer, a more energetic climb to the top of Wharfedale's highest peaks, Great Whernside and Buckden Pike, both over 2,300 feet await. Wherever you go you are assured of dramatic views over the surrounding dales and fells. The marvellous Buck Inn is only sixty paces away, and within a two mile radius there are three other country pubs. Further afield, amongst the many attractions are the Three Peaks Walk, Settle to Carlisle railway, Skipton's Medieval Castle and Bolton Abbey. A short drive will take you into the Lake District, the town of Harrogate, the historic City of York, the City of Bradford with its superb Imax Theatre.
