Herefordshire is truly a rural secret, diverse countryside of wooded rolling hills to meandering river valleys, the least populated county in England. Wander along leafy lanes through productive farmland of rich red soil to Market towns, Black and White timber villages, historic churches, border castles, glorious gardens and of course the Hereford Cathedral with the world famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library.

Cider Press, formerly a granary and a cider mill built with local red brick has been converted into a contempory holiday cottage, lying within the farmhouse walled garden, surrounded by apple blossom , flower filled borders and lavender hedges. The cottage has wonderful views over farmland looking towards Aconbury woods and Ridgehill.
The entrance is through a green oak wood porch into a large lounge and dining room, furnished with a leather suite, dark oak table and leather high back dining chairs. A downstairs cloakroom leads off the dining room.
The separate kitchen has maple wood units, fired earth tiles and a small table and chairs. A glazed back door leads to a small brick yard. Upstairs are two light airy bedrooms with exposed beams, great views over garden and countryside.
The double room has a French rococo king-sized bed and ensuite shower room. The twin bedded room features the original A framed oak beams and again a large ensuite shower room.
The cottage is heated by a combi oil-fired Worcester boiler with heat controlled radiators.

The nearest rail station is Hereford, ten minutes taxi drive away. Grafton Villa Farm Cottages are well placed for motorway access. The car journey from London will normally take under three hours and from Birmingham or Cardiff a around an hour, this is based on a relatively clear road.
The main A49 road has a regular bus service to Hereford or Ross-on-Wye, the bus stop is at the Grafton Inn, 300 metres from the farm.
Coaches services from London , Cardiff and Birmingham run daily stopping off at the Hereford bus station is again only 10 minutes from the farm.

Grafton Villa drive leads off the A49 HEREFORD/ROSS-ON-WYE Road, two miles south of HEREFORD City, when leaving the city you travel along some flat open farmland, the first building on the right is the Grafton Inn, 120 yards past is the farm drive, also on the right. Ref. 214098.
Travelling from the south, Monmouth or Ross-on-Wye, we are 400 metres from the garage complex at Callow , Toyota, Renault and Saab Garages, now on the left hand side, if you reach the Grafton Inn you have just missed our driveway!

Herefordshire, the Wye Valley and the Golden Valley are all very much unexplored and undiscovered areas of England, hidden beyond the Cotswolds from London and nestling against the border of Wales. It is, therefore, peaceful and picturesque and offers many outdoor activities with numerous walks through majical countryside or more challenging hillwalks. Canoeing on the Wye, quad biking, horse riding across the Black Mountains plus hang gliding off the Black Mountainside there is plenty for the most daring or just meandering through the countryside visit bustling Market Towns, historic border castles and glorious gardens. It really is all on Grafton Villa Farm doorstep!
