Self Catering apartments in Cornwall, a converted Barn

We are central to many other well known Cornish attractions, the Open Air Minack Theatre, Flambards Theme Park, Lands End, St Michaels Mount - voted one of the top 5 bays in the world - The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan - the list goes on and on. For a breath of some of the freshest air in the UK you could take a nice walk in the Cornish countryside or take an invigorating coastal walk.

From 1850 Killanoon was a smallholding of a house and barn set within a two and a half acre section of the Cornish countryside, and is completely surrounded by open fields and trees.

Here at Killanoon we have a large grass area with full size badminton court, outdoor table tennis, bar-b-que with private garden for each apartment. and many garden games. We also have a well equipped games room with Air Hockey, Pool, arcade games etc.

Each apartment is ideally suitable for 4 people, but can accommodate up to 6 with a bed settee in the lounge.

Killarney, the lower apartment - also has a double bedroom and a further bedroom with 2 single beds, also a double sofa bed in the lounge. This would be more suited for older children or adults.

We obviously could not have a vaulted ceiling in the lower apartment, so we have added some extra features, like a 40" LCD TV with freeview to go with the (upscaling!) DVD player, a double size shower, and a 21" LCD TV and DVD in the second bedroom. Killarney is an excellent example of good self catering in Cornwall.

Outside there is an enclosed private garden for each apartment, and a further garden with a large lawn area ideal for a kick around or for utilising the badminton court and outdoor table tennis. There is also a games room and laundry room.

In the evenings you could enjoy a glass of wine and a barbecue, or visit one of the many attractions nearby. Older, responsible children could easily be left to their own devices at Killanoon if parents wanted to take some time to themselves.

We can usually accommodate short breaks to suit you during non-peak weeks - just ask.

Killanoon is suitable for family holidays or groups i.e. walkers, etc. but we do not allow stag or hen party type groups.

If you would like to book an apartment, we would require a cheque for 25% of the total - made out to Killanoon Holidays.

We would then require the balance to be paid in full 4 weeks before the start of your holiday.

If a booking is made 6 weeks or less before arrival then the full rent is payable.

We require no damage deposit and can live with minor breakages - cups, glasses etc but you should expect to pay for bigger breakages.

Your apartment will be handed over to you in a very clean & tidy condition, we expect the apartment to be left in a relatively tidy condition.

If you need to cancel your holiday for whatever reason, we will advertise that period again, and refund all money if we can fill that period. If we cannot fill that period then unfortunately no refund can be given.

We are very private and secure here, but we do not accept any liability for any accident, damage, loss, injury, or expense, whether to persons or to property, which the tenants or any other persons may suffer or incur arising out of, or in any way connected with, the letting.

The Hirer and other members of the party must not cause an annoyance or become a nuisance to occupants of the neighbouring properties.

Sorry, we do not allow pets. There is no smoking in the apartments but you can smoke in the games room, gardens etc.

The owners are resident nearby and run their own business on an adjacent site. They are there if you need any help, but of course you have full run of the property and they will fully respect your privacy.

WALKING
5 minutes from us starts a coastal footpath which takes the same route as the train journey hailed as the most scenic train ride in Britain - from St Erth to St Ives. It is an easy flat 4 mile walk and a popular way to spend a day - park at St Erth and walk into St Ives and spend the day looking around shops and galleries on cobbled streets, maybe visit the world famous Tate gallery or Barbara Hepworth museum and garden or just spend some time on the beach and then get the train back, pasty in hand. A good day.
For those of you made of sterner stuff there is the Lands End or St Ives to Zennor walk, but be aware that this is a much stiffer test. There are many established walks around the area - you could spend months here and not do all of them.

INLAND FISHING.
Less than 2 miles DOWN the road from us there are Billy Knott's fishing lakes. These are stocked with prime freshwater fish - Cornish Carp (always good for a fight!) Bream, Rudd, Roach and even eels. These are in 2 lakes totalling around 4 acres. Billy is a registered English NFA coach and has a vast wealth of experience to offer young and old, able bodied or handicapped. He says that with his advice on bait etc, anybody - even a first timer - will be guaranteed to land a fish. The stuff of memories.

Less than 2 miles UP the road from us there is Tree Meadow Trout fisheries. A Troutmaster Water which totals 4.5 acres of gin clear water set in a wooded valley. It is regarded as Cornwall's premier large fish fishery and holds the Cornish Rainbow Trout record of 22lb 4oz. Casting lessons can be had with APGAI & STANNIC Qualified Instructor Gary Champion.
