Self Catering Cottages on the Island of Hvar

The Quaich is situated at the foot of the mountains in the peaceful village of Vrbanj. 3 cottages surround a communal courtyard and private swimming pool. Our cottages, which are converted animal houses, are fitted to a very high standard yet also keeping their simple charm. Our aim is to provide simple luxury for our guests. The owners, Chris and Mick live on site and will endeavour to fulfil your every need. To enjoy The Quaich to it's full advantage we recommend car hire during your stay but several of the nearby towns and villages are within walking distance and cycling is very popular on the island. We are 5kms from the local ferry port of Stari Grad and 22 kms from Hvar town. There are many restaurants close by and a couple of bars and restaurants in Vrbanj itself. We offer a Romantic package also in our most luxurious cottage and the cost includes several 'extras'. We offer many on-site services including picnics, evening meals on request, library, DVDs, taxi service.

Luxury accommodation with sleeping area on a mezzanine level upstairs under a pitched roof. All our sheets and towels are Egyptian cotton to help keep you cool.
Each of our beds has a mosquito net. The cottages are equipped with TV and DVD player and CD player with attachment for your ipod or MP3 player. There is a hairdryer in each bedroom.
The ground floor consists of an open plan lounge with seating and fully equipped kitchen including 2 ring hot plate, microwave oven and fridge. Also on the ground floor is a shower and wc.
The linen is changed weekly. All our kitchens are fully equipped and have the basic necessities like tea, coffee, sugar etc. Jedan is suitable only for 2 people.
Our two largest cottages can accommodate 4 - 2 in double bedroom area and 2 on sofa bed in living area.
All our cottages have air-conditioning and heating.
If you choose to have our Romantic package Tri cottage has an old roll top bath in the bedroom.
We have a cot and a high chair and children are very welcome although please be aware you are responsible for their safety at all times during your stay at the Quaich.

DVD players, air conditioning/heating, use of washing machine in owners house at a small charge.

The 3 cottages are available all year round. We have 2 seasons - October to March and April to September

Prices are per cottage and based on two people sharing. Extra guests can be accommodated in all three cottages and an additional charge of 20 euros per person, per night will be made. For children under ten there is no extra charge. Please note, the minimum stay during July and August is three nights.

Our Romantic Package is an additional 120 euros per week

There is a 30% non-refundable deposit and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival

Main airport is Split then airport bus or taxi to ferry port and a ferry crossing of about 2 hours to Hvar. The Quaich is 7 kms from Stari Grad the main island port. Package includes being collected from Stari Grad.
There are many trips from Hvar to neighbouring islands and to the mainland. It;s also possible to drive to Dubrovnik from Hvar.

There is a nightclub in nearby Jelsa and Hvar town is always very busy with many cafes and restaurants.

The waters around Hvar are crystal clear and excellent for swimming, diving and all forms of water sports.

Cycling and walking are also very popular along the many old goat tracks. We have cycles for hire at the Quaich.

The Island of Hvar is very beautiful and covered with pine forests and lavender fields. In late summer is the grape harvest and early Autumn the olive harvest.
