Ski Chalet in Austria

Our traditional and spacious chalet is set in a fabulous south facing location overlooking the village with direct views to the slopes of the Aberg mountain - part of the immense Hochkönig ski circuit with 39 ski lifts and over 150kms of prepared pistes.

Totally renovated for the coming season, the décor of Chalet Sonne has been thoughtfully and tastefully planned. The three bedroom Chalet Sonne sleeps up to 13 guests and you can reserve the whole Chalet for your group or justbook one room.

Our guests will feel totally at home in our wood panelled living room with its comfortable seating, flat screen cable TV with DVD player and corner sitting area. Adjoining is the dining area with wonderful views of the village and skiing area.
There's also a Sauna where you can relax after a day on the slopes.

Book a Room or the Whole Chalet
We accept individual room bookings or you can book the entire chalet. Prices for sole occupancy are based on a minimum of 8 full paying persons. Under-occupancy supplements will otherwise apply.

Prices & Chalet Catering
Prices shown adjacent are per person per week for a 7 night stay with buffet style breakfast, afternoon tea and 3 course evening meal with complimentary wine and coffee to follow. On one evening (the chalet hosts night off) you are invited to taste the local cuisine in the village at your own expense. Your chalet host will be pleased to recommend and make a booking for your group at a local restaurant.

FREE Child Places and Reductions
Children under 12 sharing a triple or quad room with two full paying adults are accommodated FREE for arrivals on January 22, 29, March 19, 26, April 2, 9. A child reduction of 25% on the advertised price is applicable for all other arrival dates.

Deposits
A non refundable deposit of £150 or €200 per person within 14 days of placing your booking is payable. Only when the deposit has been received will your reservation be confirmed.

Cancellations
In the event of cancellation, your deposit will not be refunded. If your arrival is delayed, or if you leave prematurely, you will be charged the full amount for the dates originally reserved. In all other instances, Austrian Hotel Guidelines will apply.

Credit Card Payments
We accept Master and Visa cards with a 2% charge per transaction applicable.

Check In Times
Check in time on day of arrival is 16.00hrs and check out is 09.00hrs. Luggage storage can usually be arranged for the convenience of our guests.

Travelling by car from the UK - follow the motorway network from Calais and passing via Munich enter Austria on the Salzburg autobahn. Exiting at Seigsdorf or Salzburg head in the direction of Zell am See to the town of Saalfelden. There turn left and head in the direction of Hintertal for 5 kms. On reaching Maria Alm turn left to the centre of the village, again turn left at the village square before Hotel Moserwirt crossing over the small bridge and following the road to the left. The Chalet is 300-400 metres further along on the right.

For those guests travelling by Air the nearest airport is Salzburg ..under one hour by road. There are numerous low cost carriers flying regular services at excellent rates.We can also arrange private taxi transfers for you direct to the chalet- no waiting for Tour operators bus transfers!

Ryanair operates flights from Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands direct to Salzburg and Thomsonfly also has services from London Gatwick, Coventry and Don

Maria Alm is one of three resorts that make up the Hochkönig Ski Circuit with over 150 kms of piste. Located less than one hour's drive from the historical city of Salzburg, it’s a typically picture postcard Austrian resort with great skiing areas for all standards of skier.

Despite the vast ski area, immaculate slopes and enviable snow record, the Hochkönig Winter Kingdom is still largely unknown to the British market. The Hochkönig ski area has 150 kilometres superbly groomed slopes stretching from Maria Alm in the West to Mühlbach in the East. State-of-the-art lifts and captivating powder snow provide all the variety you could hope for. Zell am See and the glacier at Kaprun are around 15 kms away, and you can also ski the Saalbach - Hinterglemm Ciruit accessing from Leogang which is approx 8kms away, so the opportunities for

Maria Alm is a wonderful choice for a summer holiday. If you are feeling energetic there is a choice of activities including outdoor heated swimming pool, mountain biking and cycling, together with numerous walking trails. The Gondola to the Natrun gives access to several mountain restaurants, with wonderful panoramic views.
