Holidaymakers FAQ - How to use this site

Looking for holiday accommodation for your next break? You can start searching by location or if you're not sure where you want to go, try our 'Holiday Inspirations' or 'What's on' sections. When you have decided on a location you can refine your search to how many people are in your group and what sort of accommodation you require whether it's a self-catering apartment, villa, cottage, or B&B / Guest House.

How do I find a holiday property?

Using our search facility on the home page, select your country or enter the town you are interested in and this will take you directly to a list of properties in that region. To refine your search, you can now select how many bedrooms are required. If you want to search your holiday rental accommodation by activities, facilities and other requirements then select advanced search on the home page, select country and / or region and then select from the list. Once you have found a property you are interested in, click on 'contact owner' to get in touch with the owner.

I have some questions about the property - who do I speak to?

If you have any questions to ask about the property, simply fill in the contact owner form at the bottom of the property listing, giving your email address and phone number. If the owner's contact details are displayed, you can call the owner direct and speak to them personally.

How do I tell if a property is available?

To view the availability of the property you are interested in, click on 'availability' and this will show the dates the property is booked / free.

How do I make a booking?

You book your holiday accommodation direct with the owner. When you have selected a property, or put a selection into your shortlist, email the owner using the contact owner form on their property listing, giving your preferred dates and any special requirements. Fill in your contact details, email and phone number so that the owner can then contact you to discuss all the details.

Can I send the details of the property to a friend?

Yes. To send property details to a friend or member of your holiday group, click 'email property to a friend' at the bottom of the property listing. You will then need to fill in both your friend's and your own email addresses and we will then send the email directing them providing them with a link to that property page.

Who do I pay?

You pay the owner direct. Your holiday Rentals does not get involved in the booking or payment procedures. The owner will contact you to confirm the dates are available, and answer any of your questions. The standard procedure is for the owner to send you a booking contract for you to sign and return with a deposit, with the balance to be paid closer to your holiday dates. The booking and rental conditions should be agreed between you and the owner.

The owner has not replied to my enquiry?

If the owner has not replied to your enquiry within 3 to 5 days then try phoning them. First check that the contact details you supplied them are correct and if you still can not contact them then email us at support@yourholidayrentals and we will try and contact them on your behalf.

How can I check that the property owner is genuine?

Speak to the owner on the phone, as this is more personal and will give you a better feel for the owner. Ask for references from past guests and their contact details so you can contact them. Never pay for accommodation by untraceable methods of payment. You can pay by cheque, bank transfer, PayPal or other equivalent. Be sure you are paying the owner direct, never pay to a third party. Ask for a booking contract, setting out the terms and conditions of the holiday rental.

Your Holiday Rentals will investigate any complaints to ensure that owners on this site are accurately describing their property and are behaving in a responsible and professional manner. We reserve the right to remove property listings from this site if owners are not behaving accordingly. If you have any genuine complaints about a property from this site that you have rented please email us at contact@yourholidayrentals.com.

Who do I contact if there's a problem at the property?

Please contact the owner direct if there's a problem when you arrive at the property. Some owners give the number of their local contact to call if there are problems. Advise the owner of any problems as soon as possible to enable them to resolve them for you.
